Again, having the cable/connector connected before and while setting up the driver is key and helps Windows sign the drivers digitally to the device thats already connected. I would zoom in once viewing the video to make sure to make out the drivers selected at a time to install when n where.

Set up the driver, again, I used the post I listed above and this youtube video specifically for the drivers. Install the BMWScanner tool and download the drivers for the desired OS either 32bit/86bit. This makes Windows recognize the cable/diagnostic tool before the programs are installed and makes the setup a little easier I believe. This step is important which helped out allot actually and from researching it online too, before installing the software/drivers, MAKE SURE the actual cable with the scanner tool is attached together and connected to the PC via USB.

But in general the software along with the drivers should absolutely work on any 32-bit device regardless of the current OS. With the right Windows explorer knowledge, I believe this software can run successfully on any machine OS/bit.
